The FAMILIES TALK Archive
Schooled in Indianapolis grew out of the FAMILIES TALK Oral History project. Josefa Beyer created FAMILIES TALK to explore how school experiences differs between people, places and times. During 2012 and 2013, Beyer interviewed almost 200 past and present students, parents and grandparent guardians from the urban school district known as Indianapolis Public Schools (including busing and charter school experiences).
Half of the oral history transcripts and interview audio are now archived in the Indianapolis Public Library Digital Collections. It is a place to study school life as it is and was.
